Schedule and Questions

Innovation doesn't have a roadmap, that's that fun and the challenge. We'll have to develop this game iteratively. We'll ask key questions and try to answer them through rough prototypes. That process which will dominate at least the first few weeks of the course. Get ready to try new things and seeing what happens!

Week 1
Class discusses how to break down the game walkthrough into taskforces answering core questions like these:

  1. Technical design question: How to implement the fat whip weapon effect?
  2. Technical art questions: How to create the player fight cloud effect or the enemy fight cloud effect?
  3. Technical art question: How to create sticky connection effect for hands and feet?
  4. Technical art question: How to create spreading apart effect when hands or feet press into taffy surface?

Week 2-3
Class continues asking earlier questions. If there's progress the class evaluates how to refine and further develop prototypes. If we're ready, the class discusses how to answer other questions:

  1. Technical design question: How to create toothpaste spraying out effect?
  2. Technical design question: How to implement rainbow weapon effect?
  3. Technical art question: How to create being inside a chamber taffy with billowy walls?
  4. Technical art question: How to create injury effect?

Week 4-11
We will create a detailed plan when we've answered some basic technical design and technical art questions that help determine the best scope and direction for the game.
